Manners a thing of the past

Ok so having a wee (sorry i'm scottish) read through the Standard this morning, and i noticed a article about C2C rail service who have decided to provide pregnant travellers with a "baby on board" badge, so that fellow travellers are aware they are pregnant and would appreciate a seat.

Now i am sure that you are thinking i am going to go into some massive rant about how pregnant mothers should just get there early to get the better seats, and it was their choice to get pregnant, and not our problem  their pregnant and want to travel on the same train as us, well you would be wrong.

I say congradulations to c2c for doing this and shame to everyone else who didnt give up their seats, which has in turn forced c2c to do this, we seem to be living in a society of ignorant so and so's.

Think about it do you see people giving up their seat on the bus, or helping some old dear to cross the road (except when you want to nick their purse), when was the last time you were standing in tesco and someone in front you, normally a oap is taking forever with their money off tokens, or cant find the exact change from their jar of 2p's.

I dont know about you but i do get annoyed, and start huffing not that they will be able hear me as they wont have their hearing aid in anyway, why have i/we become a nation of intollerent people.

Is it because of the rush around society we live in, that we dont have time for oap's or pregnant or just anyone slower or less able than us, or is it because we have allowed ourselves to be changed by society and become intollerent.
This was not the way I have been brought up, i was always brought up to respect my elders and stand for old or pregnant woman on the bus.

Is not about time we take out our figurative compacts and have a hard look at ourselves, then fast forward a few years, less for some of us, and ask ourselves would we want to be treated this way.

So with this in mind, how do we change a national/world problem, well we can only start with looking long and hard at ourselves, if we can look at our image and see change, then perhaps just perhaps other people will reflect that change as well.

Peace to all

Respect my privacy

Ok so we have all seen the funny comments and had a good laugh when someone gets fraped, now if you don't know what that is, to be fraped is when someone gets access to your social network accounts and posts some funny or offensive comments.

You know the type :
"I like men"
"I like balls in my face, when playing tennis"
you get the idea anything to make you look stupid.

Now up until this point i found it fairly funny and even had a giggle at a few myself but now i have been  subjected to some fraping i don't think using the word abused is to strong a word, i have been abused and my trust in human nature has been lost.

Here i am being a kind hearted soul that i am and letting my best mate using my Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 only to be suprised when i get a text saying i have updated my status, oh now have I.

Of course it was not a malicious comment and if i was reading someone else's that had been fraped i would of found it funny i am sure, but i feel slightly abused and let down by this friend (tongue in cheek).

Is not about time that we respected each others privacy and remember when someone is kind enough to lend you something then dont abuse my trust.

Please RESPECT MY PRIVACY.

end of rant

Well actually the ranting will never end - till next time

Flaming torch

Ok so we have had to put up with this stupid torch being driven, run and carried all over the country and now it is being abseiled down at the tower of london.

Then after all that and then it is under armed guard in the 11th Century tower for the night which also happens to be where they are keeping all the medals (which i do hope we win plenty of).

Surely there is better things we could of spent our money on, i dread to think what it cost for the olympic flame - transport, security, insurance, public upheaval with road closures etc.

We have spent way to much on the olypmics as it is and to be doing this as well makes no sense, some say its a great for the British people to support the olmpics and what it will bring to the country which i am not disputing. But are we not doing enough buying inflated ticket, supporting our athletes on TV and via twitter, facebook and google +.

Get a grip (on your wallet, sorry our wallet and stop spending on nonsense).

Final thought good luck to all our athlete's.

Border strikes WTF

What the hell is going on i have just heard on the news that border staff at airports are looking to go on strike the day before the olympics.

Now i am all for staff striking if things are not working and your managers and those in power don't listen to you and makes changes were possible.

But are you telling me that the issues raised by the border staff have just come up and this is the only time they can strike, i am sorry i don't have any sympathy for you guys this is most important event in the country and you choose to do this right now.

You will make this country a laughing stock never mind the security problems you are going to cause.

Listen hard border staff if i had my way i would say " we cant be blackmailed" get back to work and then we will talk.
